I believe life is too short to live in black and white.
I’m an artist, explorer, and storyteller on a mission to help people reconnect with colour, joy, and the places that make them feel most alive.
Through vibrant paintings, prints and stories, I capture the essence of special places and moments in time. Not just how they look, but how they feel. The warmth of the sun on your face. The buzz of a market. The calm of a garden. The feeling of freedom on a coastal walk. Those fleeting moments that stay with us long after we’ve left.
My work is inspired by a simple belief: We should all aspire to “Live a life worth painting’.
Born in Britain and having spent more than forty years living and travelling throughout Australia, I have developed a deep appreciation for the power of place. Some locations become part of our story. They hold memories, spark emotions, and remind us of who we are. Whether it’s a tropical beach in Queensland, a village green in England, or a favourite local park, these places shape our lives in ways we often don’t realise.
That’s why I created Places of Joy.
Places of Joy is an ongoing art and storytelling project that celebrates the locations people love most. Through colourful artwork and collected stories, I explore what makes a place meaningful. Every painting begins with an experience, but many also include stories gathered from people who know and love that location. Together, the artwork and stories create a richer picture of place, preserving not only how somewhere looks, but why it matters.
My aim is to reinterpret a scene through colour, light, and emotion until I can feel myself there again. I amplify the atmosphere, the energy, and the joy, creating artwork that invites viewers to step into the moment and reconnect with their own memories.
Today, my work focuses on three things:
Creating Art
Original paintings and prints inspired by joyful places, meaningful moments, and memorable journeys.
Collecting Stories
Capturing the memories, traditions, and experiences that bring places to life and connect communities.
Sharing Adventures
Exploring Britain, Australia, and beyond in search of beautiful places, colourful stories, and inspiration for future collections.
Whether you’ve discovered my work through a painting, a print, a story, or a shared love of a special place, I’m delighted you’re here.
Because the world needs more colour. More stories. More joy. And more lives worth painting.
